Steve Jobs Facts

June 7th, 2008

Yepp, its what it sounds like, its stevejobsfacts.com.

And with that I’m ending my six months of silence. It’s been a crazy, tiring and exhausting six months. But I’m not gonna go for months again without a word here.

Anyway, to get back on topic. Steve Jobs Facts is pretty much what it sounds like. It’s a satirical fact index about Steve Jobs. You vote on your favorite facts, and submit your own. Think of it as the bastard child of Chuck Norris Facts and bash.org with fancy sexiness sprinkled on top like fairy dust.

SJF is a project me and Dave (@sxtxixtxcxh) started last summer. Yes, I did say last summer. But due to circumstances, hiccups, and laziness, we never got the project ready for a launch. But this week we both decided to get SJF live before WWDC even if it killed us (not really, but sounds better than “if we fail, we suck!”, or “you suck” like Dave said it… lol).

The project is still very much beta/alpha though. We didn’t implement user registrations till 2 hours after we launched the site. Right now its very simple, but very usable at the same time.

We’ll be adding more features over the next few days, and some code cleanup behind the scenes to make things runs slightly faster and smoother. Not that anyone will notice the speed improvements though unless we get slashdotted or something *keeps fingers crossed and makes cute puppy eyes* :D

With all the general grumble about the Safari-is-the-SDK-for-the-iPhone on the internet, I figure that… hey, if the internet *is* where all the iPhone apps are, all web apps are iPhone apps. So, I made a badge.

Feel free to include this image on your Safari Tested™ blog (or web app) if you feel like Steve is brushing you off like a cheap $2 hooker.

Download (the badge, you perv, you can find your own hookers on your own time).

It would seem I am the only one who’s ever seen the ‘Made for iPod’ badge, so don’t feel bad if the joke is lost on you.

There is a specific HEX number which has become one hell of a hot topic lately. It was even the reason for a little scandel over at Digg. If you have no clue what i’m talking about, then i suggest you read this post over at rudd-o.com.

Anyway, to get to the point… I had a few minutes of free time last night, and oddly enough i felt restless and bored, and it was at that moment i stumbled upon loads of stuff about 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 and some random page on cafepress.com. And i suddenly got an itch to try cafepress out and be a complete uber-geek at the same time :D

So 10 minutes and a fancy styled hex number later, i had this: http://www.cafepress.com/zynode

And then i ordered one of them for myself, which is now on the way across the planet :D

Oh, and i wrote “freedom of speech” on the back in hex, i used my little converter script for the translation :)

Last minute bugs which are missed are annoying, to say the least… well v0.9.1 had one, namely Alternative Glass variants all had the blue header, rather than the glass one the normal Glass variants have, but all fixed now :)

Modern Bubbling 0.9.1

February 28th, 2007

Small update with an added feature, and the most critical bug fixed :)

Thanks to Tony Via who created a mod which added a header, i managed to squeeze a few hours aside in the middle of the night to work a bit on Modern Bubbling. I added Tony’s header with modifications, and another header style. I also fixed the custom font bug, or should i say, no-custom font, cause thats basically what it was, you were stuck with 11px Helvetica no matter what you picked in the message style preferences.

Anyway, enough talking, here it is:

hope you enjoy ;)

So, i’ve finally gotten off my ass, and submitted my first message style for Adium. The plan was to add a few more things to it before i released it, but that was 3 weeks ago, and i haven’t had time to work on it, so i decided to just release it in its current form cause its stable, works well, and looks nice :)

Hope you like it :D
